Efforts to promote science education assume that reliable, representative results about the corresponding competency or interest levels exist. Reference points for the analyses can be, for example, educational concepts and curricular requirements or findings from other countries within the framework of comparative studies. When examining the results of science education, it makes sense to also survey and investigate the structural background conditions of the educational processes involved. The focus of the research area 'Educational Monitoring' is determined by PISA and TIMSS.
